Fresh from demolishing Maxis USJ warehouse 6-2 a month ago, Trisilco have fielded a depleted team as most of the players are on overseas assignment. We were informed that this team also defeated USJ Warehouse 5-1 a week earlier. What a night is was going to be.
It started with a very fast game, with Maxis pressuring us in the early minutes. . The heavy pitch did not help at all. Both our goalkeepers (Lam and Sanjay) could not make it and Zul Wahab stood in as a replacement.
The ball was played mostly in the middle of the field with tackling went out of control due to the wet conditions. A smart move by Maxis saw a strong ball in and Zul Wahab made a clumsy catch. The ball bounced of him and was met by Maxis forward. The tense situation saw Trisilco very much in disarray. Our very own David Lim a.k.a. Sir Alex showed a worried face, standing by the sideline cheering the players. Leading by a goal, Maxis increase the tempo but our defense held on. Zalil cut off their supplies from the left with Kamal and Hafiz on the right.
Tactical switch was made and Azman was introduced replacing Rizal. Within a few minutes he equalised with a superb individual goal. Trisilco then re-set the tempo of the game. Azman dribbled the ball on the left and a good cross in saw Amir with a dashing bicycle kick, however the ball did not connect. Then James squared the ball in again and this time Amir put the ball in by sliding forward. A few good moves were produced but no goals were scored. First half score Trisilco 2 - Maxis 1.
Second half was a totally different story. Azman was quick to make it 3-1. Later Hafiz join in the humiliation party on Maxis. A fantastic ball in saw our central defender Amzi scored to make it 5-1. Soon after Azmi added to the tally to make it 6-1. Maxis is no where in the game. Their fast tempo did not pay dividends. Another solo effort saw Muz scored from close range. With this healthy lead, Azmi took over from Zul Wahab to guard the posts. Zul was quick made amends to his earlier blunder by scoring one goal. More chances were created but both Rizal and Zul entertained us with the referees' whistle blown for off-side. Very frustrating when we can increase the lead further. Azman later completed his hattrick.
It was a night that Maxis wished to forget and a night for Trisilco to remember as this is the last game of the year. Syabas! Final score, Trisilco won 9-1. Majulah Sukan untuk TRISILCO.
